Today I want to write about and brainstorm some ideas for simulating investments and I have a couple options in mind.

What this project entails: This project would model what would happen if I invested 100k dollars but without any of the actual risk, as I would be using fake money.

Why I want to pursue this project: It would broaden my knowledge of the economy while allowing me to see what kind of investing fits me. This project would also be helpful for me to know if I really even want to pursue economics in my life time or something else.

Option one:

thinkorswim: Paper Trading

From what I have seen, thinkorswim may be the best option to use because it is free and is easily accesible even on your phone with real time market data. What more could we ask for?

Overall: 5/5

Option two:

Investopedia Stock Simulator

From what I have seen, Investopedia Stock simulator is also free, but is less accesible as they do not have an app for the iphone, which is what I use, meaning everytime I want to access some information, I would have to hop onto a computer everytime. It also has a 15 min delay on it's information which is only a very minor discomfort.

Overall: 4/5

After a lengthy session of decision making, I have decided to use thinkorswim's Paper trading simulator for my project. I researched more options besides these 2 ,but no others were able to compete. They were either not free or not as accessible as thinkorswim.

Hopefully I can get this project started by next week and I will be regularly updating.
